Notes: Tank is an intact German Shepherd/Australian Shepherd mix. He is 2 years old and about 55 pounds. Tank's owners had to give him up due to some family troubles. He knows "sit", is said to be good with kids and dogs AWAY from food (is food aggressive), and has had no cat exposure. $60 adoption fee. - Adoption of dogs is open to residents of Grayson, Wythe, Bland, Tazewell, Russell, Washington and Smyth County areas of VA
- To adopt a dog you must be 18 years of age or older.
- You must provide a picture ID with a current address at the time of the adoption.
- Adopters must sign a sterilization agreement to have the adopted pet spayed or neutered within 30 days of adoption or within thirty days of the pet turning six months of age.
- Each pet is required to be vaccinated for rabies within seven days of adoption if it is four months of age or older.
- State law requires that all dogs and cats have a current vaccination for rabies.
- Adopters must return the proof of sterilization paperwork within seven (7) days of dog being spayed or neutered.
- Dogs that have been spayed/neutered are available for adoption to anyone including out of state residents.
- Out of state adoptions must be spayed or neutered before leaving Virginia.
